Why do I experience "Fail to open" when I scan my respository?

I have created a repository and scanned result. But it responses "Failed to Open" for 10/11 of the items.

It is not my first time to experience this result, wonder if you have any ideas on the mentioned issues please?

Steps:

  1. Click "Create" in REGISTERED REPOSITORIES
  2. Create new repository with below details:
    1. Name: test_rf3
    2. NETWORK PATHS: \\172.30.34.150\testing files\quick one
    3. ANALYSIS:
      1. ANALYSIS TYPE: Content
      2. CAPTURE PERMISSION AND OWNERSHIP : Yes
      3. ANALYZE SUBITEMS: Yes
      4. CATEGORIES ITEMS: No
      5. EDUCTION: Yes
    4. GRAMMARS:
      1. HKID
    5. MAX MATCHES: 10000

When I click save and restart the connector, the scan result is "FAILED TO OPEN"

Even if I have below changes:

  1. ANALYSIS TYPE: Metadata only
  2. CATEGORIES ITEMS: Yes

But the scanned result is the same. "FAILED TO OPEN" for 10 out of 11 items.

Anyone have ideas on this issue please?

What is the File Type , Size and Format?

Failed to open: In general , may be zero bytes and\or PST files.

The other Analysis > By Risk can expect "UnSupported File Type" due to it may be flagged as unsupported by Keyview.

Here is the list of supported formats:

    www.microfocus.com/.../index.html

If a file type (e.g. PPT file) is listed with Filter=Y but the file cannot be opened why does Keyview list it as Unsupported File Type instead of Failed to Open? It is possible that Keyview detect file format properly, but the file couldn't be filtered due to unsupported.

    Hope it helps
