Where do you found the update filr 5.0?

    Thanks for info!

OK, i have found it in my customer center, but there was no visible information that this version was released mid september and i was beta tester!

In history there was a internet site with all news and coming/released new products! I missed this!

    Hello Wencheng,

I saw the same in the upgrade overview. But not in the text below. But as far as I can see there is no pre-upgrade script on the Filr 4 appliance, nor in the download section of the portal. So I think this image was a copy-paste from the upgrade from Filr3 -> 4 and is no longer necessary for the upgrade from Filr4 -> 5

There is no pre-upgrade script for Filr 5.  This issue has been reported to the Filr documentation team.  Hopefully, we'll see an updated graph soon.

    HI

My filr 4.3.1.2 is upgraded from filr3.x...now  I will upgrade it to filr 5.0

    I simple verify upgrade again.

    1. shutdown filr4.3.1.2 server.

    2. deploy filr 5.0

    3. move the data disk of filr 4.3.1.2 server to filr5.x server as datadisk. I also add new disk as log disk.

    4. then boot filr 5.0 appliance

    5. I type need information on  configuration page...then it reboot ....it keep this status

    which step I miss ?

I don't think you missed any steps.  However, how long did you wait at the screen you shared?  In my lab, I saw the same issue but after several minutes it changed from:

    to

and from there it took several more minutes before seeing:

Maybe you(we) have to add one step.

Filr5 has configured 20GB of ram. I do not know how much ram your original Filr had before you upgraded. So you have to think of adjusting java heap size I think ...

    Yes...you are right.

I wait about 5 mins...I could switch another terimal console (Alt+F2) to see the top information..but it seem no any high usuage process. then about 7-10 mins...it indeed run the later procedure...the prompt show well..

I could login success an update the new filr 5.0 license.

I think the message need modify to let engineer could wait ..not like me think whether the old filr disk has some problem to cause hang.

I was upgrading last night and ran into the same issue.Except it was hours and not minutes.
When i checked which processes where running i noticed a "chown wwwrun:www -R /vashare/filr" was running.

There are a couple of hundred thousand files on a NFS share.

Would be useful with some verbosity about what is going on during upgrade.
