Possibly it is a rights issue.  There is a check done when you share a folder as to whether there are any files or folders that you have limited rights to in the directory structure. If there is any file you have read only access to then you will only be able to assign view rights, if you have any files not visible to you you will not be able to share the folder at all.

Also could it be the user is not a member of that group in Filr?  What happens if you explicitly add the user to the global settings on 'Share and comment' settings and to the net folder share options?

If it is the root of the Net Folder have you set the allow.root.level.NF.share setting?

I have tried explicitly adding myself to both the 'Share and Comment' settings and to the net folder. (As an eDirectory user I have supervisor rights to).

I added the allow.root.level.NF.share=true setting and restarted the filr system with no change in behaviour.

Just to update my original post, I can Share Folders with Internal users. I just don't have the option to Share Folder with External users.

Should I be able to Create a Folder and Sub Folders under 'My Files' and then share those folders to external users or maybe I misunderstand the sharing rules for Folders vs individual files?

I spun up a fresh install of Filr 5.0.0.2 with the same Ldap user base and Folder Sharing is available for both Local My Files and Net Folders.

I intend to upgrade my 4.x Filr versus starting fresh due to all the defined Net Folders, so hopefully something with that upgrade will resolve my Folder Sharing issue.
