Filr 23.4 service stops randomly.

messages and famtd.log shows repeating lines like this for each or our 3 (OES 2023.0 eDir 40209.00) server:

famtd[2164]: ERROR:Trustees::UpdateTrusteesFromeDir:NWDSRead returned -603. Can't read object <server name.context>

famtd[2164]: ERROR:Trustees::UpdateTrusteesFromeDir:NWDSRead returned -603. Can't read object [Root]

famtd[2164]: ERROR:Trustees::UpdateTrusteesFromeDir Unexpected exception

Filr 23.4 appliance has no updates available.

Service can be restarted from the appliance portal, system services, Novell Filr, action, start.

This normally runs for several days before stopping again.

    I'm seeing the same on one of my 23.4 installations. Did you open a SR?

    Looking at my logs, it seems to be a memory leak, eventually the OOM-Killer jumps in.

    2024-01-25T23:43:23.383559+01:00 mts-cloud kernel: [3829797.761110][ T2152] famtd invoked oom-killer: gfp_mask=0x1100cca(GFP_HIGHUSER_MOVABLE), order=0, oom_score_adj=0

    and eventually:

    2024-01-25T23:43:32.510425+01:00 mts-cloud systemd[1]: filr.service: Failed with result 'signal'.

    Did you read this?

    Especially the database clean-up helped in one case ...

    No, I have not opened a SR.

    Thank you both for your input.  After reviewing the post on "ERROR: update or delete on table "ss_forums" violates foreign key", it appears we have just over 1,800 bad records that need to be cleaned out 10 at a time.  Also we have an old server (net server) that the system will not allow us to delete.  With both of these issues, I think I am going to start fresh with a new VM and Filr server.  Hopefully a clean start will clear up both these issues.

    For the "smooth" option you may put all IDs at once.

    The query is only updating 'ss_forums' and that way triggers Filr mechanism which is responsible for removal of orphan records in all necessary tables.

    Sorry for the confusion. The article will be updated.
