Change Filr eDirectory authentication to MS Active Directory without lost

Hi,

After searching a lot, I can't find an answer at this question.

A customer wants to migrate the LDAP user source authentication eDirectory to his MS Active Directory (synced by NIM).

But he wants it to be transparent to users (user need to authenticate with the same login/password as eDirectory and found his environment like before).

Do you know if this is possible please?

I have done this with Filr successfully. Are you changing to Windows file servers? If so it is easy enough to switch the net folder servers over, just make sure the path structure is the same. I haven…

Once I did for Vibe (=same base). But I had to rewrite some tables in the database to switch from eDir LDAP to AD LDAP. There are of course different ids. It is only possible if users do not change names from directory to directory ...

I haven't tried it but you should be able to change names, though I wouldn't.

If it is only a few users I would set up a separate zone and import users from AD then just switch the Zone ID and User ID, and a few other fields (like workspace id) over in the Database then delete the new zone. Otherwise if it is a larger number of users write a script to switch things over. The important part is the GUID. Don't forget your groups, and of course change the ldap sync over before it next syncs.
