Filr Desktop Client for Mac 23.3

Situation

When attempting to install the Filr Desktop Client for Mac 23.3 on macOS 14 Sonama, the follow message is returned:

FUSE:
Unsupported macOS Version
The installed version of macFUSE is too old for the operating system. Please upgrade your macFUSE Installation to one that is compatible with the currently running version of macOS.

Cause

macOS 14 requires macFUSE version 4.5.0 for the Filr Desktop app for Mac 23.3 to work.

Resolution

  • Open macFUSE under System Settings and click “Update FUSE”to update macFUSE4.5.0
  • Restart the macOS.
  • A System extension pop-up with the following message will be displayed:
    • System Extension Blocked
      • A program tried to load new system extension(s) signed by "User Name", but your security settings do not allow system extensions. To enable them, open Privacy & Security System Settings
    • Ignore or Open System Settings
      • Choose "Open System Settings"
  • Click “Allow” under security and privacy in System Settings to update the System extension.
    • The following Privacy & Security pop-up will be presented
      • Security
        • Allow applications download from
          • - App Store
          • - App Store and identified developers
        • System software from developer "User Name" was blocked from loading.
          • Allow
  • Restart the macOS14.
  • Launch the Filr 23.3 application. If the Filr application fails to launch the following message is displayed. You can restart your system.
    • You will be presented with:
      • The application "Filr.app" is not open anymore.
  • When macOS launches the Filr Desktop client for Mac, log in with your user credentials.
