OpenText Filr 24.4 Released

OpenText is excited to announce the general availability of Filr 24.4. The LTS release includes features and enhancements for enhanced security and extended collaboration in addition to fixes for customer reported issues.

How?

Filr 24.4 update is available over the channel to all customers with active maintenance. Follow the Updating Filr through Online Update Channel to install this update. For those running Filr in a Small deployment, ensure that there is sufficient disk space (2x of database space) to upgrade PostgreSQL.

Highlights

Regulatory compliance: Filr 24.4 introduces configuration allowing administrators to manage external user phone numbers in the external user registration form. Please note that Filr requires external user phone number only if multi-factor authentication is enabled for external users. If MFA isn’t enabled in your deployment, then you may consider disabling the phone number in the external user registration form to be compliant with regulatory requirements.

Data Leak Prevention (DLP): Filr administrators can create additional DLP policies to protect sensitive data. In addition, the policy can be configured to warn the users when sharing sensitive files externally.

Copy or Move files in ‘Shared With Me’: Filr web client users can manage their files and folders by copying or moving items within or between Shared With Me area (requires Contributor rights).

TLS protection for data exchange between Filr and Search nodes: Filr administrators can enable TLS encryption for all data transfers, over the wire, between Filr and Search nodes for added security.

Platform updates: In addition to the quarterly SLES 15 SP4 security updates, Filr 24.4 release also includes updated PostgreSQL, Collabora (CE) online, Angular, and Tomcat.
