Well, I hoped to get more insight before (!) installing the DVA as part of a migration.

And I am not installing it on Linux.

It is not the log-files I am worrying about, it is the index-files.

the DVA doesn't have any index files, it just does the data extraction of the attachments and feeds the results to the QuickFinder index, so that is as it has been for ages.

I haven't even hit space issues with the DVA, it uses so little, I wasn't even aware of it.  Did some digging to find what files it does build, and the only thing I can find are temp files from encountered issues that might need a periodic clear out  {PO folder}\oftemp\gwdva\problem

The indexer files are in their usual space of {PO folder}\ofuser\index

Add-on-question: When adding the DVA to an already completely indexed PO, is there anything special to be done like initiation of a reindexing i.e.?

Not that I can recall, just that it will be busy for a while, so perhaps best to trigger just before a (long?)weekend.  And then periodically monitor for excessive errors in the logs, both DVA and POA.

In the POA logs, you can see the status by searching (tail -f)
   " QuickFinder index "
and watch the number in the bracket for each file approach zero.
