I had a "what-if" conversation with a client last week, who was considering Groupwise as an alternative to being forced on the Mega MS365 platform.
I was showing them Groupwise at another client site, and they noticed that we did not have MFA enabled for login to the web interface.
Unfortunately, Groupwise does not seem to offer anything for MFA except their NetIQ solution, which also impacts GWMobile and Internal/Groupwise client users.
The client only needs to have MFA on the public/web facing interface.
That one point knocked Groupwise out of the running.
Come on folks, this is not rocket science!!!
Groupwise already has an LDAP interface for the built-in user database, and DUO has a LDAP/Radius Proxy that will act as the middleman. If Opentext were to dedicate a programmer/analyst for few days to the project they could get this knocked out!!
Many of our clients are now mandated by CyberInsurance policies, or requirements for other Cyber-security frameworks to have MFA on all public facing interfaces.
As a secondary requirement, most are also mandating MFA on all administrative interfaces.
Someone needs to elevate this as a priority for the Groupwise Development team.
