How to limit monitoring activity?

It is a year now that SMG is able to run a monitor. Some gadgets help us to find out how our SMG is performing. Especially the nice graphs help us to convince management!

Nevertheless I did not find to get a hint how to limit statistics recording. How many days, a counter for items - whatever else ...

I experienced a reason for this: statistics database is a lot larger than quarantine database ... I do not want to increase storage just for statistics ...

    Hi Diethmar,

    you are able to 'limit the days' to retain the statistics data.

    The setting "Statistics data retention days" can be set below ' Organization Settings ' in the SMG Webinterface.

    If you want to individual limit either per policy, or per filter the statistics collection. Each node and Policy have a dropdown about 'statistic collection'.

    The three states are 'Collect all stats', 'Do not collects stats' and 'Collect counts only'.

    The first two are pretty much self explanatory and the last one 'minimizes the amount of data collected'.

    In what 'range' this is happening is up for discussion, but it should decrease the amount of collected 'data' a lot.
