Product Management Favorite New GroupWise Solutions – Quick Responses

Who else besides me often finds themselves buried in emails, trying to catch up and be responsive to every request, question, action etc?  That you receive in your inbox? In a lot of cases someone just needs a response of approval or alignment, if you are in favor or against something, like or dislike or sometimes you just need to close out a conversation politely with a "thank you" or a "you're welcome". How many of you have ever sent a one-line response to an email? It happens to me every day.

In GroupWise 2014 R2 we will introduce a new feature that is a solution to those problems and will help you be more efficient with your time and managing your inbox. One of my favorite new solutions that I want to share with you today is Quick Responses.

Quick Responses in the GroupWise 2014 R2 client is a quick, simple, easy to use feature. Here is how it works:

Imagine you are in a situation where you are trying to get through all of your unread email. You have a lot of them. You come across an email from a co-worker and leader of an upcoming project. Martha, as the project leader has sent an email to the team asking if everyone is in agreement with a decision. When you open the email, in the lower right corner of the message you will have the option for a quick response.

QuickResponse1

Clicking on the arrows will allow you to pick from a default list or make your own custom comment:

QuickResponse2

In this case you choose the "Agree" quick response. This response gets recorded, and anytime you open the message you can see that your quick response is set to “Agree”

QuickResponse3

You didn’t have to worry about reply or reply to all, you didn’t have to do anything more than select the quick response and then either close or delete the message.

Now the question is, “How does this appear to the sender?"  Great question and it is pretty slick how it works. Martha will get a new message in her inbox for each quick response she receives to the email. In this example you can see a response was also sent to her from Peter.

QuickResponse4

Opening the message from Peter allows Martha to see the total of all of the responses and who sent each response.

QuickResponse5

Clicking on the arrow next to the tally expands the results and shows who responded and what their response was.

QuickResponse6

Martha can also view the responses by opening up the mail message in her sent items folder. It will also appear in the properties view of the sent item. Including any history of users who have changed their response!

This was a very quick and simple introduction to a great new solution coming to you in GroupWise 2014 R2. I hope this is exciting and you cannot wait to get the latest client!

    When GW2014R2 will be available?
You told us that you are using it (as a beta) since Oct. 2014.
    This are eleven month!
Our customer will not use Exchange. Even if GW will be gone, they will use an other solution, but never Exchange. If they would want to migrate to MS there was a lot of offers in the past.
