Customer Influence on GroupWise (Part 2) - Making You the Top Priority

In the recent release of Novell GroupWise 2012 we really focused on enhancements that make your end users more productive. In the next release of GroupWise we’re turning the spotlight on administrative enhancements that will make you more efficient, more productive and more able to integrate GroupWise with your overall infrastructure.

During our recent face-to-face visits with customers, one of the top requests was for enhancements to the GroupWise administration tools, especially in the area of Web-based management. As a result, we’re moving away from the ConsoleOne interface to a complete Web-based administration model in the GroupWise Windermere release that will be released in 2013.
Even though the GroupWise Windermere release has a heavy focus on administrative enhancements, we understand that every release has to further enhance the user experience.

The feature most requested by the customers we visited was Active Directory support. So AD is now a top priority in the GroupWise Windermere release, too. Of course, we’ll still support eDirectory, but the added AD support will help simplify management efforts for organizations with mission-critical, AD-dependent applications.

Even though the GroupWise Windermere release has a heavy focus on administrative enhancements, we understand that every release has to further improve the user experience. The Windermere release will be no different. With that in mind, we’ll be enhancing WebAccess and delivering new customer-requested features for the Windows client. Specific details on these enhancements will be available in the coming months.
