GroupWise 2014 Just Got Even Better With New Software Release

If you’re using Micro Focus’ GroupWise 2014 workforce productivity suite, then you’re already familiar with its streamlined messaging, scheduling task and contact management services. Now, it’s time to add even more value to your investment by upgrading to the latest software version of GroupWise just released today: GroupWise 2014 R2.

In GroupWise 2014 R2, you’ll find the same familiar design and layout that has made the GroupWise product line so popular. There are several exciting enhancements, too, that greatly improve the product’s usability and flexibility.

First and foremost, Apple users will benefit from the addition of CardDAV and CalDAV, enabling them to use their Apple contacts, calendar and mail services in conjunction with the GroupWise platform. This ought to be particularly impactful seeing that Apple commands about 11 percent of total business spending on computers these days, not including the popular iPhone. With this in mind, Micro Focus wanted to ensure that the ever-growing Apple business community has continued access to its critical support features.

Additional new features for GroupWise 2014 R2, which are available to all users regardless of operating system, include the ability for non-meeting organizers to appointment invitations and propose new times for meeting invitations. GroupWise 2014 R2 also includes bidirectional flag syncopation, which engenders flagged messages to appear on mobile and desktop interfaces, and the option to send predefined Quick Responses to emails when brevity is desired. What’s more, the addition of single sign-on, group voting and personalization photos combine to make GroupWise 2014 R2 more user-friendly.

That’s not all, though. Micro Focus is also releasing version R2 of the GroupWise Mobility Service. This new version utilizes Microsoft ActiveSync, allowing users to access Outlook on a mobile device as well as on a desktop computer and using GroupWise in the backend. It also offers busy searches for Outlook, which allow users to see if others are busy or free when scheduling meetings. GroupWise Mobility Service 2014 R2 additionally provides access to the GroupWise Profile Setup tool.
