Ever have one of those days where you just cannot seem to get done what you need to get done? And when you do get back to what you were doing, you lost your place? As a consultant, I have spent years building lists. Lists of tasks, lists of requirements, and lists of processes. This has helped me to provide not only consistent delivery of my services but allowed me to 'mark' my place should I get distracted. And better yet, helped me to remember a process if I have not done the implementation in a long while.

In this quick tip, I will provide one of my lists for GroupWise Mobility Service. This list is what I use to build single or multiple GroupWise Mobility Service servers. I always follow this list for my implementations and it has made all the GroupWise Mobility Service installations easy. So without further ado, here you go.

1. Install SLES11 sp3 64 bit
   
   
   
   1. There are a lot of options I could go into here. But I do not. Instead, I do the most generic baseline install of SLES11 I can do. I also do not install the firewall. If you need the firewall, then you will want to open ports. Also, any firewalls 'between' GroupWise Mobility Service will need these ports opened.
   
   
2. Ports: 636,389, 7191,4500,443/80, 8120

• DO NOT-Install postgresSQL-server on SLES11 ( Mobility will install v9)
  
  
  
  1. postgresql-server
  
  
• postgresql-init

• postgresql

• libpq5

• Make sure SLES11sp3 ISO/CD is in drive for Mobility Installation (used for Mobility)

• Download and place Mobility code in: /root/install/mobility/ or in /tmp/mobility (really where ever you want to run the install from will do)

• Create a GroupWise Trusted App using GroupWise 2012 ConsoleOne
  
  
  
  1. Name of Trusted App: Mobility1 (or what ever you want to name it)
  
  
• Name of key file: gwtamobility.key

• Move Trusted App key to /root/install/mobility/ or your /tmp/mobility location on Mobility Server

• Create an OU in the eDirectory Tree for GroupWise Mobility Service -name it: GWMobile (again, choose your own name)
  
  
  
  1. Also, this assumes you are doing an eDirectory oriented installation. If however you are doing a GroupWise only implementation
  
  
• If you are doing an LDAP install, then you need to create all of these items in your LDAP directory.

• Create a user: GWMobile , in the GWMobile OU

• Create an eDirectory Group in GWMobile OU, name: GWMobileUsersGrp

• Set Rights for GWMobile user as a Trustee of Root

  2. Follow the steps listed below
     
     
     
  3. Launch ConsoleOne.
  
  
• Right Click on the top most container and click "Trustees of this Object ".

• Click "Add Trustee... ".

• Browse to the LDAP user and click OK.

• Highlight [All Attributes Rights] and click Delete Property.

• Click Yes to confirm.

• Make sure[Entry Rights] is still there and Browse is selected and "Inheritable" check box is selected.

• Click Add Property.

• Select "Show all properties".

• Surname ,

• dn ,

• Member,

• Password Expiration Time attributes.

• Give Read rights to these attributes and select "Inheritable".

• Click OK.

• Click Apply and Close.

• GWMobile Server IP Internal address:

• GWMobile Server IP External address:

• GWMobile server DNS name (from outside): {gwmobile.domain.com}

• eDirectory LDAP server IP:

• eDirectory LDAP server Port (prefer 389): 389

• eDirectory LDAP Server Group TLS ON/OFF:

• eDirectory LDAP server Certificate if port 636: 636

• eDirectory LDAP server Userid (full context): {should be eDirectory Admin or equivalent}

• eDirectory LDAP server password:

• GW ConsoleOne Server name:

• GW ConsoleOne Server IP:

• GW ConsoleOne Server admin userid:

• GW ConsoleOne Server password:

• GW ConsoleOne Server 1st Post office IP:

• eDirectory User Context (can start at Organization level ie: o=novell): {users.OU.O}

• eDirectory Group Context: {gwmobile.OU.O}

• eDirectory userid to administer Mobility (full context, suggest admin): {gwmobile.gwmobile.OU.O}

• eDirectory userid to administer GWMobile password:

• Mobility Authentication Type: GroupWise or eDirectory:

• Launch Installation

• Yast, Software, Software Add On's, Add, Local ISO

• Location of Mobility ISO: /root/install/mobility

• Select Import

• Yes on License Agreement

• On Package Install, Select Mobility Mobility, Accept, Continue

• Then, Select Mobility Pack Configuration to Configure Mobility

• Configure all needed parts.
