Knowledge Document: Groupwise Post Office becomes slow and unresponsive every Monday morning

When users are logging into the GroupWise client on Monday mornings, the client is slow to respond to actions like: changing folders, opening mail, adding attachments, etc. The issue clears up as the day goes on and is fine the rest of the week.

  • Classic weekend job collisions and mailbox growth. 
     - High swap rates(slows things down) can show that RAM needs increasing or lost/'stolen'.
     - SANs' busy with other synchronization/backup tasks can slow disk I/O
     - and just plain more mail to process than there used to be.
