Microsoft retire Internet Explorer soon but iPrint functions are still only available using IE?

Hi,

Microsoft announced the soon retirement of Internet Explorer. As far as I could read the date has been set to June 2022.

Still there are functions regarding iPrint that are only supported via IE. Functions like driver upload, creating of a new driver profiles etc.

What are Microfocus plans regarding supported browsers? We use iPrint appliance ver. 4.2.5 which is updated etc. but still the supported browser for these functions is IE 5.5 and above.

I know I can use iprntcmd tool (and so I did to solve my driver upload issue…) but still to relay on old and retired browser is not OK. Isn’t it time to update the product?

Micro Focus is working on a new console that it will be browser independent. It is planned to be released along with oes2022 (Around August 2022). In the meantime, there is a video that explain how to use Edge to upload and manage drivers and driver profiles. It is not a supported solution from Micro Focus and it is provided as it is but all customers i know using it, they've reported positive feedback:

The map tool is not yet scheduled to be moved to the new console. You may want to help if you use the video above to configure Edge and see if this workaround also helps with the maptool. Your feedback would be interesting. Thanks

Are there any news about the new iPrint management console? There are only seven weeks until IE is dead as dead can.

It is still in progress. Expected within two month.
You also have some alternatives;

1. The workaround using Edge is working as far as i know to upload drivers and mange profiles.
2. You can also use iprntcmd to upload drivers.

I have just tried with Edge (ver. 100.0.1185.29) - to manage driver profiles but it is not working. Unfortunately... I am receiving a popup pointing to IE 5.5 :-)... it didnt help changing to IE mode... :-) have used iprintcmd to upload driver with. It is working just fine. looking forward to the new consol. :-)

Any news about the new portal ?

Our company will delete IE from our worksation...
Nothing work in my side about maptool (The link of the video don't show maptool).

Imanager work fine.
