This document explains how to configure Equitrac accounting solution on Open Enterprise Server or iPrint Appliance for iPrint printers.
iPrint Printers: The print jobs are sent to the iPrint print server and then to physical printer.
Note: Equitrac does not support accounting for iPrint Direct Printers.
Refer the below mentioned links for help related to installing and configuring Open Enterprise Server and iPrint Appliance.
Open Enterprise Server 11SP2:

iPrint Appliance 1.1

To perform iPrint Printer accounting, perform the following:
Prerequisites:
Configure SQL server.
The Equitrac Office/Express installation wizard enables you to select the server components to be installed on each machine. For local installation, install all components on the same machine and run the wizard only once.
To run wizard follow the below steps:
For more information on Equitrac Office/Express installation, refer Equitrac Office and Equitrac Express Administration guide.
Note: Accounting server is Equitrac Office/Express configured on Windows Server as mentioned in Step 1.
Ensure that the accounting server is accessible via the DNS name or IP address you specify.
To modify this name at a later time, run the eqcascfg command.
NOTE: The server’s root user must own eqacctg with the s privilege in order to enable access to the DRE spool files.
Running the Setup Script:
This script points to the /usr/local/eq directory and automatically calls the eqcascfg script in interactive mode, and restarts the eqctrl daemon. Run this script to configure the Equitrac Office/ Express server and start the eqdred daemon.
Installed Files:
List of files installed with Equitrac Office/Express for Open Enterprise Server print servers:
/usr/local/eq/LICENSE
/usr/local/eq/eqpce.cfg
/usr/local/eq/PSInit/CoreInit.ps
/usr/local/eq/PSInit/UserInit.ps
/usr/local/eq/EQSpool
/usr/local/eq/EQSpool/devmode/DevLib
/usr/local/eq/EQCASMsg.bin
/usr/local/eq/Settings
/usr/local/eq/logs
/usr/local/eq/eqdred
/usr/local/eq/eqctrl
/usr/local/eq/eqcascfg
/usr/local/eq/eqdre.cfg
/opt/novell/iprint/bin/eqacctg
/etc/init.d/eqctrl
To configure DRE, specify the name of the server hosting the Equitrac Office/Express Core Accounting Server (CAS), using the eqcascfg script.
For example:
/usr/local/eq/eqcascfg –e your.server.com
Specify the name of the Equitrac Office/Express server as a fully-qualified name or an IP address.
Controlling the Equitrac Office/Express Daemon:
To start the Equitrac Office/Express daemon on the Open Enterprise Server or iPrint Appliance:
/usr/local/eq/eqctrl start
To stop the Equitrac Office/Express daemon:
/usr/local/eq/eqctrl stop
To restart the Equitrac Office/Express daemon
/usr/local/eq/eqctrl restart
To see the status of the Equitrac Office/Express daemon:
/usr/local/eq/eqctrl status
To automate the startup/shutdown process of the daemon, a copy of the eqctrl script is installed into the appropriate location.
Each Printer Agent for which you want print control and tracking must be configured to use the ‘eqacctg’ module.
On successful configuration iPrint jobs for iPrint printers will get accounted.
Viewing the Equitrac Enabled iPrint Printers in Core Accounting Server:
A physical device, port, and print queue will be created in the System Manager in the same manner as any other DRE device.
