Error message seen in Apacahe2 Status

Good morning,

My customer is running OES2018-SP3 servers, in my environment, I have a mixture of 2018-SP3 along with 2023, 23.4. I have been seeing a message when I do a status on the Apache2 service, systemctl status apache2.service -l, the Apache service is running so I assume that everything is alright but I was just seeing the following error,  nds_nss_GetGroupsbyMember: Failed to init socket, status = 0 , not sure what this error is or even what it's referring too? I didn't think that Apache would have anything to do with eDirectory or NSS volumes, so again just not sure what the error is actually referring too?

Thank you,

-DS

I even see this occasionally on 24.2.

It is a known 'issue', as detailed in KM000010774

so more of a cosmetic thing, that probably doesn't show on a restart of apache2.  If you wanted to risk the other possible complications, you could set apache to need nsds started first, noting that enough things have a dependency on apache, it could cause a cascade of issues.

    Good morning,

Thank you for the information, I can provide this to my customer should the question come up, but as you highlighted, upon a restart of Apache that error is not seen, so I think that we'll leave it as is, at least until such time as we start moving towards OES23.4.

    Thank you,
