Renaming an iPrint Printer in OES2018-SP3

Good day,

Never really had this type of question previously, customer is asking about renaming an iPrint Printer, current name for ex: is Printer1A and they want to rename it to Printer2B.

I thought that there would be an option within the Print Manger, but there didn't seem to be anything, would the customer use Directory Administration -> Rename Object to rename the Printer object? Then do they have to restart the Printer Agent at that point so that it would pick up the new name?

Good day,

It appears if the customer has iPrint Advanced there, is an ability to rename a printer using the /ipcon feature, however; since the customer is using iPrint Basic the options are that they can redirect the older Printer to a newly named Printer that has the similar drivers,etc., Or they simply delete and recreate a new Printer object.

You can use iprintman to rename a printer in iprint basic

Good day,

A TID would be helpful but I did find a piece of documentation is it the following:

iprntman printer [printer_name] <command> [options]

So for ex:

iprntman printer test_printer --new-name test_printer1 (would there need to be any [options])
