Citrix Secure Gateway is a Citrix Access Suite infrastructure component you can use to secure access to Citrix Presentation Server farms. The Secure Gateway component transparently encrypts and authenticates all user connections to protect against data tampering and theft, ease firewall traversal, and provide a secure Internet gateway between Citrix Access Suite components and client devices. All data traversing the Internet between a remote workstation and the Secure Gateway is encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) security protocol.

  • First of all we need an SSL Certificate from GoDaddy or your preferred SSL Certificate Provider. Install that Certificate on your IIS 7 Server from the IIS Server Manager

  • Now change your Secure Access to Gateway Direct for both sites. Your Web Interface and your Services Site (Secure Access is in the right hand column 4th option down)

Now launch your Secure Gateway Configuration Wizard from the Citrix Programs Folder

Click next

Choose Advanced

Click Next accepting defaults

Click Next accepting defaults

Now add STA's which are your XenApp Servers in the farm. Make sure to use the entire FQDN's.

Click Next accepting defaults

Click Next accepting defaults realizing that your TCP port is 443 for the CSG

Click Next accepting defaults

Notice that the wizard finds the SSL Certificate that you imported into IIS before you began this process

Now add your STA Settings, which must include the XML Port that the STA is using. In this case we used the default port of 8080. Once these are correct, click finish and the Start the Secure Gateway, which the wizard will prompt you to do!

Congratulations
