Novell Product(s) this tool is for: any version of NetWare with
NSS or traditional FS
Visual tool for finding and freeing disk space. It's designed to handle large disks with millions of files easily.
Have you ever wondered where your 500GB of disk space has gone to? How many times did you open your favorite file manager or Windows Explorer and browse through all the folders, trying to find some big old file to delete?
Forget it! You can use Drive x-Ray to recover your lost disk space really fast.
Drive x-Ray uses sunburst graph to effectively visualize disk space utilisation of entire disk at once. Sunburst graph is like pie chart, but slices in sunburst graph can have subslices. Slices in sunburst graph represent files or direcotries, subslices represent subdirectories or files found in parent slice (directory). Size of slices represents size of file/directory contents relative to other files in the graph. Largest files cover largest area of screen and are most visible. Slices
are colored so that two adjacent slices have different color.
x-Ray can display contents of selected location in two modes proportional and top-ten. The size of slice in proportional mode is relative to all other files/directories. In top-ten mode, only ten
largest files/ directories are displayed as subslices in each directory. This is useful if there is large number of files with similar size, because x-Ray only displays files that exceed certain computed size threshold. You can switch between proportional (default) mode and top-ten mode using T key.
Use menu on the left to select from available local drives. You can
also use Browse command in the right menu to select location from tree
browser or to enter network UNC path. Drive x-Ray will scan contents of
selected location for file and directory information and update the
graph in the center immediately. Reading of entire disk structure can
take a while, especially on large or slower disks. Information about
name, size and modification time of file or directory under mouse cursor
is displayed instantly in a popup box near cursor.
Left click on directory slice to display it's contents.
Double left click on file slice to open file in default application.
Right click on slice to display contextual menu with available commands
(open/explore/recycle/...)
Roll mouse wheel to navigate the disk structure (forward go into
directory under cursor, back return to parent directory)
