In OES 2 SP2, the DNS-DHCP Management Console (Java Console) is available on Linux. Download Java Console from the welcome page of the OES 2 SP2 Server. Currently, this is in Beta phase.

This article describes the import/export operations of Novell DHCP Service. The import/export functions are required to transfer Novell DHCP Service configuration's from system files to eDirectory and vice versa. The format of the file should be strictly compliant with dhcpd.conf format.

Import the DHCP Configurations:

The configurations for the DHCP server can be imported from a file which is in DHCPv3 format to eDirectory using Java console on Linux.

Use the steps below to import the DHCP configurations using Java Console on Linux:

1. Click the DHCP (OES Linux) tab of the Java Management Console.

• Click (Import DHCP Database) on the toolbar to import DHCP configurations from file to eDirectory. The Import-File Input window displays.

• Click Browse to select or specify the path for the DHCP configuration file.
  
  Note: The format of this file should be as defined for DHCP Server by ISC standards.

• Click Next to enter the details for Service, NDS context of the service, and Default DHCP Server.

• Click Import and then click Finish to complete the import operation.

Export the DHCP Configurations:

The configurations for the DHCP server to be exported are in dhcpd.conf format.

Use the steps below to export the DHCP configurations using Java console on Linux:

• Click Next. The services for export are listed on left panel.
