Retain and migration to Office365 and archiving in Mimecast

Hi,

We run/ran GW 2014 and Retain 4.9.0.1 .... The company has decided to migrate user data and email to Office365 in the cloud and therefore did not renew the Microfocus licensing.  The migration is still ongoing and taking months. (I warned them about this). Anyway, because the license has expired, Retain is no longer archiving email and therefore the "Trash" is building up significantly and will not be migrated to Mimecast which leave a gap of  6 months in our archive email records.

Is there a way to get a once-off Retain license to archive everything for the last couple of months before the final move to Office365 and the cloud.

Regards

John

So are  you MF customer or partner? Maybe your partner has a NFR (not for resale) license to cover some parts.

However if you go for a Retain O365 license, then you can access Retain with an Outlook plugin and of course archive O365 data into the same archive.

We have been a Novell/MF customer since '94 (Netware II). They are scared that when I retire in a few months they will not be able to find a SuSE/Novell/MF engineer so they are dropping all the products :(  The company want to keep Retain for searching old email records since 2008. Can I perhaps download a "trial" version of Retain with a full 30 day license?

Hi John, I fear there is no 30-day license to download. If I remember in the right way, then Retain will work without license for 30 days for a new installation. But yours is up and running. So please ask a (nearby) partner!
