How to check if retain is backing up emails?

How do I check if Retain is backing up emails?  It doesn't seems to be backing up emails.

We have set that all emails needs to be backed up before it can be emptied from groupwise trash bin.  The Trash bin is not emptying automatically, which it is suppose to do.

Is it for just one user or for all?   Very different troubleshooting steps

what version of Retain and GroupWise are involved

the Retain Admin login should give you some ideas of a system level issues,  check the job(s) status for clues

Otherwise, for user level issues, it is the Retention Date Utility at the bottom of the Retain admin About page that we need to look at.

    +1

    I show two options.

Rather easy is to go for reporting.

There you will find your jobs and some reports show how successful they were (errors, warnings, numbers, ...)

The second option works within GroupWise if you use a flag during archiving. Add column RetainArchived to your folder view.

"1" indicates that this item has been archived.

A note on that first option:  It does require  "Reporting and Monitoring" to be configured.  I've seen some systems where this didn't get done or was turned off for some reason (investigating that one now that I found it off).

And a big Like on that second option.  I went straight to one account and turned it on in the Trash folder where I'll most likely need it.

A note for the second one - you have to enable it too!

Second option is great for users,

first option is great for admins! I recommend "Reporting and Monitoring" for any installations.
