Are multiple retention policies possible?

So some departments want to keep emails for a very long time, others just need their email for 3 years maximum.

is it possible to create different policies and just add users to x policy?

Yes, that's easy I think.
I created three groups in GroupWise: a group for two, four and six years. And my users are members in one of these groups.
Now I create three different profiles in Retain and and three different jobs which are limited to group two, four or six.
