A long lasting request ...
A user logs in to Retain and usually lands in Browse, user name - maybe similar to home folder. So Retain will show no single mail, even or especially if searching for entries. So users are disappointed and will leave Retain.
I think it is a lot smarter to land in Mailbox because users will see immediately a result.
