Odd Message in Engine Log

We have been experiencing some issues with our Storage Manager staying up. I think I have all of the bad events cleaned out of the queues and have been monitoring the engine log (tailf /var/opt/novell/storagemanager/engine/log/nsmengined.log) and noticed the below messages getting logged once in a while. I haven't correlated these to any events yet and was wondering if someone could tell me what they mean.

NWXPLAT: m_pfnNWDSReadAttrDef() failed, rc = -603
NWXPLAT: m_pfnNWCCOpenConnByName() failed, rc = 0xc7e50014 ** The rc identifier changes on this one
