missing nsmproxy object

I'm attempting to do a re-install of 3.1.1 from scratch, so I deleted nsmproxy and nsmadmins group from eDir tree, then removed the engine rpm from the server. Also deleted /etc/opt/novell/storagemanager.

After a reinstall, the objects are not reinstalled and when I run nsmadmin I get an error stating "The object in directory services has a class or attribute mismatch and is not valid." I've also tried running /etc/init.d/nsmengine-config proxy-reset

Any assistance is appreciated.

    Dan,

There is no "/etc/init.d/nsmengine-config". The NSM Engine configuration
utility is installed in, I believe, /usr/sbin/nsmengine-config, and
should be in the root user's path.

Run "nsmengined proxy-reset" on the command line to reprovision the
proxy account, then re-run the Engine config utility and go back through
the Engine configuration wizard. Then attempt to reconnect with the
Admin client and rerun the setup wizard.

I need assistance with this if possible. I rebuilt the nsm vm server from scratch, but I still get the same result as seen here when running the nsmadmin. I'm assuming it's something with the eDir schema. I don't see an nsmproxy user, but I do see an nsmproxyhome volume, I also have an nsmadmin user, but no group. Still getting the error "The object in directory services has a class or attribute mismatch and is not valid."

Is there anyone out there that can offer some help with this? Can I manually re-extend the schema, will this help?

    Thanks.

    Dan,

At this point, you may need to open a SR, or at least get help from us
directly. Could you email us at storagemanager@novell.com, and include
some documentation and screenshots so we can understand the issue more
    completely? Thank you.
