Event Server Placement

Hello,

It appears that my event servers aren't seeing any events occurring. Firewalls are disabled and heartbeats are up. I'm pretty new to all this, but I'm thinking the location of my event servers are the issue. The documentation says Novell recommends "two per replica ring". The two VM's I have event servers on have no replicas on them. Is this the problem?

Thanks

    coreyhansen,

You're very nearly correct! Each Event Monitor needs to monitor a
replica of a partition where events of interest take place, and we
strongly recommend two event monitors per replica ring.

The good news is that it's not necessary to install new event monitors.
The Event Monitor configuration utility (nsmevent-config) will let you
specify a LDAP server to monitor for events and the appropriate
authentication method for your environment. As long as they're
monitoring different LDAP servers to get that broader coverage within a
replica ring, you should be set.

If you have any questions about this process, don't hesitate to ask.
