Streamline amount of clicks to access a file

Is it possible to access a file or or document (whether it's a word, excel or pdf), with one click?

For example, I have a folder in My Files. And, I see the file I want to access. I click on it, and it takes me to the file again to click on. Why can't I just access that file from the first click?
