HPE VM Explorer 7.1.001 cant replicate between hosts running ESXi 6.5 and ESXi 6.7

Hi everyone,

I am trying to replicate a virtual machine from a Host running ESXi 6.5 to a Host running ESXi 6.7. When I try I get the following message:

"a replication from a datastore not formatted as vmfs6 to one formatted as vmfs6 is not possible, because vmfs6 doesn't support vmfs-sparse snapshots"

I have checked and the host running ESXi 6.5 is set as VMFS5 and the Host running ESXi 6.7 is set as VMFS6.

What is the best way to resolve this replication issue? The host running ESXi 6.5 is going to be decommissioned.

Thanks,

JT

"a replication from a datastore not formatted as vmfs6 to one formatted as vmfs6 is not possible, because vmfs6 doesn't support vmfs-sparse snapshots"

is this correct or did you miswrite the source as vmfs6 instead of vmfs5?

I have checked and the host running ESXi 6.5 is set as VMFS5 and the Host running ESXi 6.7 is set as VMFS6.

Suggestion would be to migrate your source system to a vmfs6 filesystem in the first place.

Otherwise you would have to create a new datastore with vmfs5 to do your replication.
