ESXI SSH/SCP

For some reason I cannot add my servers to VM Explorer. It keeps giving me the error of

ESXi SSH/SCP Error: There was a problem while connecting to hostname.domain:22

Now this is on vSphere 6.7 U3, the hosts are on ESXI 6.7 U3 Build 17167734

VM Explorer is on 7.1.3

I can use Putty and WinSCP to connect to the hosts fine.

Im thinking its on the VMX Explorer side but I cannot tell why and the error does not seem to give much info.

Is there any logs that I can look at to try to see why

Hi

We're experiencing this very same problem with ESXi 6.7 with the same build number. What config file are you referencing that needs editing - on ESXi or VMExplorer? Our VMExplorer host is Windows.

I replied to you in the other thread:

On your ESXi server, you'll need to edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and add the following line anywhere in the file:
KexAlgorithms ecdh-sha2-nistp521,ecdh-sha2-nistp384,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256,diffie-hellman-group14-sha1
Then restart sshd with:
/etc/init.d/SSH restart

This fixed a problem I was having after I changed the IP addresses on my host. Thanks.
