VM Explorer cannot connect to ESXI 7.0.2 via SSH

When I try to add an esxi 7.0.2 to vm explorer 7.1. (with patch 7.1.3) i get the error: ESXi SSH/SCP Error: There was a problem while connecting to "servername":22.

- SSH service on the esxi server is started

- the firewall ist open for SSH client and server

-  the entry for key algorithmus sha1 is added to the ssh_config file

What is the problem the vm explorer cannot add the esxi to the inventorry?

This should be solved with the latest version (7.1.4) of VM Explorer.

I did this patch and it worked for connections but VMs were becoming unavailable during backups. Things like printing or DNS would just become unavailable depending on the server being backed up. It seemed to happen during snapshot cleanup. I reverted all of the files back so I could test sshd_config alterations with the 7.1.1 version of VMexplorer.

I've had an open ticket for a week. Direct help from an engineer has not been offered yet.

I opened a support request and never got any legitimate help. Just random comments that would flip the portal to say "Awaiting Customer Reply." Then I would email the same information over and over again. The logs, the IP addresses etc.

I looked over the logs myself and I see that for the times that I ran a backup a RESTART was initiated. Is this a new option in this hotfix? Why would you ever restart a VM in production? Please help.

Thanks. They got back to me before this comment on 4-8-2022 to ask if I have "restart vm" selected in advanced. I don't and replied as such on 4-9-2022.
