ZAM 10, Primary Users, and Smart Cards

Hi - we have an mostly smart card environment, and the workstations cannot determine the primary user. In fact, unless a person logs on with username and password, the computer will not recognize them as a logged in user either.

i found the following article in the documentation, which indicates authentication is not supported for smart card or biometrics:
Novell Documentation

however, I was hoping someone had a workaround or alternate way of determining the primary user in a smart card environment.

Thanks!

Perhaps you could create a script that writes the username or some other identifier to the registry and get ZAM to retrieve that value from the registry? Not an ideal scenario, however, that could be a suitable workaround depending on your requirements.
