PLU fails after restoring ZENworks Asset Inventory server

I recently had our single ZENworks Asset Inventory server die and I had to rebuild it on a new server. It was the only server in the enterprise running the web server, task server and collection server. I reinstalled the software, restored the file store from a backup and reconnected it to the database. After doing this I tried running a product live update but it repeatedly fails when trying to apply the update. I tried downloading and applying the update manually and got the same result. The error is a very nondescript "Error in Update."
In addition to this issue, all of the clients are showing not connected, and an attempt to reinstall the client on a workstation using the remote client install tool results in the error "Failed to configure client. ErrorCode: 5. Access is denied."
What am I missing?
I forgot to mention that the collection server won't remain running. When I start the server its status shows "running" for about three seconds then switches to "stopping" then "stopped."
Thanks,

Adam
