Retired status of software/hardware components in ZENworks reporting

Hi Folks,

When creating New Ad Hoc View in ZRS, I can see the following filters under Software and Hardware Information:

Is Hardware Active

Is Hardware Retired

Is Software Active

Is Software Retired

I can see in the SQL, that components now have an IsRetired field. How/when does ZENworks fill that field (it doesn't equal to the retirement date of the machine)?

What does it mean for a hardware that it's active/not active?

Please someone explain how do these fields work.

Deleted/Removed is probably the more appropriate term for HW/SW

Along these lines...

Of course, if you purge Inventory History..You would lose details about software uninstalled or hardware removed/changed.

After a short testing, it seems that when a machine is retired, its BIOS component gets the IsRetired field filled with the date of retirement. Other components seem unaffected by retirement. They get the date into IsDeleted field when the machine gets deleted or when a component is uninstalled from the machine.
