AntiMalware - Linux Primary Server - Enabling Kafka

Good day,

I just started working with Antimalware in my testing lab(s) in one of the environments I was able to proceed through the documentation , https://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks-2020-update-2/zen_es_antimalware/data/bookinfo.html and was able to bring my AW application to a working/monitoring state.

When I tried to process through in my production setting, I get stopped at the section, Add a Linux Primary Server, Enable Kafka status Failed, the error message states the Primary server name: Node 2, the enablement state : Failed, click here for help, and click Enable Kafka to try enabling Kafka again. When I click the Help link, it takes me to the Getting Started : Endpoint Security page and tells me about the Eval period, Trial Key, and License key which I assume means that it's not accepting my license key ( I used the same key in my testing lab and again that is working) first question do I need a different key for the Production setting? I was also able to manually start the Kafka on Node 2, and I can see in Diagnostics that all the services are running. So not sure why I cannot get the Kafka to enable on that node other than it might be licensing that's causing an issue.

Are there any logs I can look at that might shed more light into this?

Thank you,

-DS

You see, if the server accepts license key or not. Status should be Active .

    Good morning,

I do see under the Endpoint Security section, a Green check point is displayed, so I assume that means that the product is active? Would there be a log that I could see that might shed more light on this as well?

No , you need click on the Endpoint Security and you will get section with "Activation - Antimalware Update Entitlement" , if there is no key, it will not work.

    Good day,

Yes I do have that activation set, there is a key, and the Endpoint Security section, does have a Green Checkmark.

I was trying to enable Kafka on the second Primary, on the first I have the Antimalware service running, would that be an issue? Should I try to have both on the same server?

I do have debug logging on, is there a log like loader-messages or services log that would provide some information?

This did all work in my testing (VM Lab) so I don't really have any troubleshooting experience at this stage with this particular application. Sorry for the multiple questions.

Why Kafka on two servers ? Should be run only on one.

This is a screen shot of Node 1 should I enable these services before trying again? I also tried to use Node 1 as the enable server and it seems to keep defaulting to Node 2?

    Morning,

I use the OS + ZEn ISO to install ZCM. I have a 2 Primary server Zone, one is SLES 12 SP5 and the other is SLES 15 SP2

    Thank you,
