Very Soon.....The final build has been approved for release.  It's just a matter of it making it to the download site.  

Note: There will also be a 24.4 which will not be far behind.  It should be out very early Q4 but will be a very small update with a few key fixes.  The hope is then going forward the updates will be every 6 months at the beginning of Q2 and Q4....at least for now.

is this going to be an in-place update like the recent ones, or is it going to be a new appliance and copy over the /vastorage disk?

This will NOT be a Media Release nor will 24.4.

24.2 will REQUIRE the Primaries to already be at ZCM 23.4

It will be a normal System Update such as 20.2 to ( 20.3 or 23.3 or 23.4)

Just to add to Craig, Windows will not be supported as Primary servers anymore. The existing windows primary servers in the zone has to be migrated to an appliance or Linux primary servers before you can upgrade to 24.2. (If there are any windows primary servers in the zone, the upgrade will not proceed.)

To ease the migration from windows to Linux/Appliance, a migration tool will be released very soon.

Thanks! Yes that is an important point. 

For Windows Primary Users....ZCM 23.4 is a Long-Term Release so it will be supported for another 2+ years so there should not be any immediate upgrade requirements and a requirement to move off Windows Servers immediately.

Still not there, anything stopped the release ?

It is still a go...Most likely early next week.  There was a mid-week U.S. holiday and they may wanted to avoid releasing around that.

There is certainly a whole bunch of patches suddenly awaiting in the Appliance interface :9443 that wasn't there a few days ago.
