Inventory only agent for windows hung when starting exe

Hello,

I tried the IOA for Windows from 24.2 to install on Win 10 64 bit and on Windows server.

It install the VCxxxxx runtimes and then open a black cmd with a blinking cursor. nothing happens or finished.

I reboot the win 10 box and tried it again: Nothing. Ony the black cmd without any messages.

Run as Admin the same too.

Any help?

Do you have 20.3 or 23.4 versions of the IOA you can test? Do they work? Have ANY of the agents ever worked for you? It would be curious to know if a change in the agent broke something or perhaps a change in your environment broke something....which could be as simple as newer virus signatures....

However, I will try and test the 24.2 agent to see if I have issues....

Looks like a known issue.

Uninstall the current VC++ 2015-2022 and then re-run the installer.

You can then upgrade the VC++ to the current version.

Seems the VC++ installer from MS hangs if a newer version is installed instead of exiting gracefully as not required as most MS patches do. Presumably the installed will add additional checks instead of relying upon the MS installer to do the checks....
