Content missing from satellite server - zac satr

Hello community,

We encounter the issue where the bundles are not available on a satellite server. zac satr shows that the status of the content is stopped:

Satellite Roles
Role: Authentication Enabled: false. Status: Stopped.
Role: Content Enabled: true. Status: Stopped.
Role: Imaging Enabled: true. Status: Stopped.
Role: Collection Enabled: false. Status: Stopped.
Role: Join Proxy Enabled: false. Status: Stopped.

How can we activate the status?

Could you please advise?

Thank you!

Did you try restarting the box?  This should restart all of the services.

  • I restarted it but the problem persists. The download bundles are not available.

    zac cdi ss

    Processing Command: cdi

    Synchronization Status
    linux-bundle: 0 file(s) remaining
    Imaging: 0 file(s) remaining
    Default: 0 file(s) remaining
    Windows-Bundle: 0 file(s) remaining
    0 of 0 files synchronized (100%)

    Successfully executed cdi command

  • ZCC->Configuration->Bundles, Policy and Content->Pre-Cached Content.

Make sure your satellite is configured to Pre-Cache content.

Newer Versions of ZCM have a new feature called "OnDomand Content" which is enabled by default in certain cases.  With this, the satellites will no longer pull down content in advance for most things.  Rather, it is only pulled down when a client needs it.  It is then cached by the satellite for a period of time or until space constraints force it to be cleared.

The new default configuration utilizing OnDemand content would never need to replicate content this manner.  It all depends if Pre-Caching is enabled for this satellite, which is configurable.

    Thanks for the info.

We have found out that the configuration of the satellite was corrupted and important content was missing.

The content role issue has been fixed by copying the following folder form a healthy satellite
    /opt/novell/zenworks/webserver/java/lib/*

The imaging role issue has been fixed by copying the following folder form a healthy satellite

    /root/imaging/*
