Since our environment consists of Both BrightStor and ArcServer, I had to find a simple way of monitoring both. This script with created that will allow me to just drop the script on the machine, and let it find out what Product was running so it can know which log it needs to monitor. This is was written in VBS and and just parses through the log for selected dates looking for selected text. This will monitor Backups that were successful, failed, canceled, skipped file and files that it was unable to read. To make things easier the option of loading this information into a custom database was added in that kept the track of what was backed up and what wasn't. For a registry call, the machine that this script runs on needs to have WMI 1.5 installed.
