On-Premises Bridge (OPB) Email integration endpoint needs support for newer mail protocols

At present the Email integration endpoint for the OPB only supports IMAP/IMAPS or POP3/POP3S.

Although the likes of Exchange Online can be made to support IMAP, it's very much an exception and we'd much prefer it to be using Exchange Web Services (EWS) which doesn't require circumventing the security of our Exchange environment.

  • Do we have an estimated date as to when this option will be released?

Most of our customer' security teams are expecting this.

  • This is asked by our customer (the giant in Global logsitics & Investment industry) for many times , this is critical for them, as they are adopting EWS and have great concerns on POP3, but to satisfy the compatiable with smax, they have to keep an exception for the integration, but this is a short term workaround, we are also looking forward to add the feature to current deployment

  • Great news, this idea has been accepted on our product roadmap. Subscribe to receive updates. (This is not a formal commitment, and subject to change)

  • Our customer refuses to activate IMAP / POP3. So we cannot integrate inbound email. We think about the open source EWS / IMAP gateway (http://davmail.sourceforge.net/), but we need an approval for this as a workaround for missing EWS in OPB. To get this approval is not very likely.

  • We are already facing a scenario where the Customer is already using Exchange Web Services (EWS) and we are having a hard time closing the project. Hence, this would be an essential enhancement we would need.
