Set Language Preferences for End Users in the first login into service portal

Status : Declined

Customer Requirement:
Set the initial language preferences value from "English" to "Spanish" for non english end-users' first logins into the service portal.

Possible Workaround:
Update the table "entities_100000002" for set the value "es" into the "schar2" field in "xservices_ems" database.
This update is not complete because all items, categories and km records are still displaying in English, nevertheless the rest of literals are displayed in Spanish. (see attachments).

update entities_100000002 set schar2 = 'es' where entity_type_id = 136 and schar8 = 'ESX0001703'; (Database xservices_ems)

Expected Behaviour:
The fist login page into service portal where the user has to modify/upload his picture, give the possibility to set the language preferences for the next login too.

Thanks in advance,

  • This feature is absolutely mandatory. We've got serveral negative feedbacks because of this missing functionality and the fact, that users must upload a picture but can't change the language (must be done seperately).

  • This is an absolutely most-have feature. In all of our implementations customers has asked about to set the default language to the native language. Without this, each user must do the task of updating the language preference when this is perfectly avoidable.
