SMAX mobile App should use Geographic reference features

My idea is that the SMAX Service Portal App should take advantage of the phone capabilities like Geo-reference in order to be able to find the location of the submitter.

  • Related to this, I like the idea of the app knowing both where the users and agents are, so that if a user raised a request and the agent happened to be temporarily at that site or location, it could alert them to this.

    That to me is something immediately useful in using this information. Similarly, as our users roam between sites, it might be helpful to know they are not at their usual site when they raise the request if it needs immediate attention.

  • Hi  - you mean instead of coming from their contact/user record (or LDAP if available) or as an option for when traveling? If I'm traveling for work I may or may not want the location to change - depends on the request.

    The idea is to have the Location set automatically. Most customers are spread Geographically, and the location to be calculated automatically would be a nice feature.
