Support more file extensions for uploading and embedding in the RICH_TEXT field

Status : Declined

In SMAX 2018.11 release *.tif & *.tiff file types are in the supported list of file type extensions.

Despite that support of using these extensions, in the rich_text field they are not supported yet.

Our clients are using this type of file extension in SMAX, due to the fact that they are products of the scanners that they use. So it would be crucial for us to be able to use the file types, which are in the supported file type extensions list, to all fields that they could be used and not only in the attachment field.

Thank you,

  • Hi  - there was some confusion with this Idea. After speaking to Support I have re-opened it. It wasn't clear from the post you wanted to embed this file format. The attach for this format does work. I have changed the title to be clearer.

  • Hello,

We logged a support ticket about the issue we are having.

We received the answer that Rich text fields do not accept embedded *.tif image formats in the body. However, it will be treated in the IDEA, in this link.

So if you could please change the status of our idea from “Declined” to “Waiting for votes” in order to collect the efficient amount and fix our problem.

    Thank you,

    George Kourtzis

  • We have reviewed this idea and determined that it may be a defect. Using the latest release we were able to both drag and drop and attach a TIFF file. Please log a Support ticket for further evaluation.
