User photo from AD/LDAP

Status : Declined

At present, there is no REST API to upload avatar for a user. We have to do through the Service Management Agent interface.

Please check if it is possible to fetch from Active Directory the  Photo of the user instead of manually uploading it as an avatar in SMAX

  • Avatar is very heavily present all around SMAX and AD would be logical place to get it for the user as all other data is being imported from AD as well.

Present configuration basically stipulates the user itself to upload an avatar and in real-life, they do not. And yes, I do know that an agent can also update the avatar but let’s face it, this is not the job that the support agent should be doing.
