No, it is not the same REST API. For the Persons and Group relationship I've used the ums/managePersons API. I haven't been able to find a way to import MANY2MANY relationships using the ems/bulk APIs.

If it is possible to do this using the ems/bulk APIs, please show me how.

The payload I was using was not correct. I think they should provide this example in the documentation page, because the payload structure was not clear to me.

Documentation is good, but as with anything there is always room for improvement.

The way I figure out most things is to use the developer options in your browser ,  e.g in your case, to go to a CI, add a relationship in tool, and look at the API Calls SMAX does which will tell you what it's doing most of the time, and you go from there
