Announcing Service Management Automation 2019.08 Availability

We are proud to announce the general availability of the Service Management Automation 2019.08 release for both SMAX and SMA-SM customers. 

SMAX

Service Management Automation X (SMAX) is the first application suite for Enterprise Service Management and IT Asset Management built on machine learning and analytics, integrated with UCMDB and Discovery. It can be deployed on-premise, in private or public cloud, or moved from one to the other. The out-of-the-box, extensible, codelessly configured, best practices mean customers achieve faster time to market, and lower cost of ownership. It is scalable, multi-tenant, and container-based, and provided as-a-service by Micro Focus partners worldwide. 

SMAX release 2019.08 introduces and enhances a number of capabilities including: (See the Release Notes for the final and more complete list of changes!)

Studio Apps

  • Capacity Management and Facility Management (Visitor Registration) have been added to the ITOM Market Place SMAX Studio apps. These starter apps are available free-of-charge, and covered by product support and available for customers on 2019.05 or 2019.08.

Subscription enhancements

  • Subscriptions can be automatically created as part of a the request fulfillment process, simplifying ongoing management and related requests via the self-service portal. The display of those subscriptions has been enhanced.

Deployment Flexibility

  • SMAX can be deployed on premise, in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Enhancements to Google Cloud and Azure’s managed Kubernetes service (AKS) were made in this release. See online documentation for specifics and limitations

BETA: Software Asset Management

  • SMAX Premium customers on the 2019.08 release will be able to participate in the Software Asset Management beta.

 

SMA-SM

Also referred to as "mixed mode", SMA-SM enables existing customers of Service Manager to take advantage of the modern SMA Service Portal and keep their existing Service Manager implementation.

  • Support of AWS deployment
  • Support of Service Portal mobile app
  • OpenL10n support

 

Service Manager 9.63

Service Manager 9.63 is available from SMA 2019.08. This release introduces and enhances a number of capabilities including: (See the Release Notes for the final and more complete list of changes!)

Smart Email / Notification

  • Support for additional Smart email use cases (approve change, approve request, and close change task)
  • Support of notification email with attachment
  • Support of group mailbox

Service Manager Reports

  • Additional standard reports can be supported in Calculation type of reports
  • Customer can specify the minimum and the maximum values on the value axis in Axis Bounds (Minimum/Maximum) for the Chart type of reports
  • Customer can now display the count labels for data items in Show Data Labels for the Chart type of reports

Deployment Flexibility

  • Service Manager deployment now supported on AWS or Azure
