REST API Resume Paused Flow - ERROR - data map cannot be null when resuming an execution

I'm trying to RESUME a PAUSED flow thru REST API using the "HTTP Client Put" step in OO:

Step Input:

URL: CentralHost:8443/.../status

AUTHTYPE: basic

CONTENTTYPE: application/json

METHOD: PUT

BODY: {"action": "RESUME"}

Central server.log Result:

2023-10-04 11:06:57,887 [http-nio-8443-exec-15] (FlowExecutionV2Controller.java:218) ERROR - data map cannot be null when resuming an execution

OO Step Result:

    Hi,

    As per the OO documentation (https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/Operations_Orchestration/2023.05/ChangeExecutionStatus) in order to resume a flow without providing input values the body should contain:

    {
    "action": "RESUME",
    "data": {
    "branchId": null
    }
    }

    While for a paused flow where providing inputs for prompts the body should look like this:
    {
    "action": "RESUME",
    "data": {
    "branchId": "f47ac10b-58cc-4372-a567-0e02b2c3d479:1",
    "input_binding": {
    "Input 1": "VALUE2",
    "Input 2": [
    "VALUE1",
    "VALUE2",
    "VALUE3"
    ],
    "Input 3": null,
    "Input 4": "434"
    }
    }
    }

    Basically in your case the body of the request was missing the data key-value pair and that is why it is giving you a bad request response instead of resuming the flow.

    Hope this helps,
    Vlad

    +1 in reply to

    Thanks very much Vlad! It works now after adding the missing input values in the body of my HTTPClient PUT step.

    "data": {
    "branchId": null
    }
