GUI tools that can monitor local and remote Java processes:

JConsole , JVisualVM (JDK):

  • Java Mission Control – needs comm. License (JMX Console, Java Flight Recorder),
  • YourKit Java Profiler,
  • JProfiler,

Downsides:

- Can produce an overhead on JVM, affecting it even more,

- JMX needs to be enabled on the JVM prior to startup,

Central-wrapper.conf ( ras, designer) setup:

wrapper.java.additional.21=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote=true

wrapper.java.additional.22=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=7570

wrapper.java.additional.23=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false

wrapper.java.additional.24=-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false
